Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies (EASY with 4 Ingredients)
Easy to make, basic ingredients, and nourishing, these peanut butter banana oatmeal cookies have it all. For the perfect snack or sweet treat, look no further!

As our kids have gotten older, these have been one of their favorites, both to make and to eat. And I love that they have no added sugar besides the ripe bananas and chocolate chips. Plus, we love adding a couple scoops of protein powder to these to make them extra satisfying.
These cookies only contain oats—no flour—so they are gluten free. They are also a great egg free cookie option. Being rich in protein and nutrients, these cookies have even been known to even show up on our breakfast table.
What You’ll Need
The Ingredients
Bananas – The riper the better!
Peanut Butter – It’s important to always check the ingredient label on peanut butter and look for one with the only ingredients being peanuts and salt. Avoid peanut butter with added oils and/or sugars.
Oats – My favorite brand is One Degree organic sprouted rolled oats. These are sprouted making them more digestible along with being certified glyphosate free and gluten free. Either quick oats or rolled oats work well in these cookies.
Chocolate Chips
Sea Salt
Protein Powder (optional) – I’m always looking for ways to maximize nutrition and increase our protein intake. I can’t taste the difference when I add 2 scoops of protein powder. My favorite brand is Ancient Nutrition.
The Equipment
- Medium sized mixing bowl
- Rimmed Cookie Sheet
- Parchment paper or a silicone baking mat
How to Make Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Cookies
Begin by collecting all ingredients and a mixing bowl.
Using a fork, mash bananas until they are pureed and smooth.
Add the peanut butter, oats, chocolate chips and protein powder if using to the smashed bananas.
Stir until everything is incorporated.
Using a tablespoon, drop spoonfuls of the cookie batter on a baking pan lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Gently press down the cookie dough until it is the size and shape you want.
Repeat until all of the cookies are made. Then, I like to press a couple of chocolate chips onto the top of each cookie for good measure.
Bake the peanut butter banana oatmeal cookies at 350°F for 8-10 minutes.
Let cool before serving.
To store, place in an airtight container on the counter for up to 2 days. For longer storage, they can be kept in the fridge for up to one week or in the freezer for 6 months.
