Ingredients in Maple Roasted Almonds
As opposed to many recipes for candied almonds that contain tons of sugar, this recipe is sweetened only with a little maple syrup.
Another great thing about this recipe is that it only uses basic ingredients that are daily staples in our house. The only ingredients you need are:
Whole Almonds – Almonds work perfectly in this recipe to complement the maple cinnamon syrup but you are always welcome to experiment, substituting any different nut.
Maple Syrup – If you are able to find maple syrup from a local farm, that’s always our preference. But, if not, your local grocery store is sure to have options. Just be careful to read the labels and ingredients to make sure you are getting pure maple syrup and not the adulterated stuff.
Cinnamon – Cinnamon pairs so well with the sweetness of the maple syrup and works perfectly in this recipe. If you want to spice it up a bit, you could add a small amount of cayenne pepper but we typically keep it sweet to make it friendly for our whole family.
Sea Salt – In my opinion, a little sea salt should be added to every great recipe and there’s no exception here! Salt helps bring out flavor making your taste buds rejoice!
The Process to Make Cinnamon Maple Almonds
Step 1 – Measure out 2 cups of almonds and place in a mixing bowl.
Step 2 – In a separate smaller bowl, mix together maple syrup, cinnamon, and salt.
Step 3 – Pour maple syrup mixture over almonds and mix until the almonds are thoroughly coated.
Step 4 – Once almonds are completely covered, pour almonds onto a rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper or silicone baking mat. Spread out so the almonds are in a single layer.
Step 5 – Bake at 350°F with a cook time of 18-20 minutes for perfectly roasted almonds.
Step 6 – Remove pan with hot almonds from oven to let cool to room temperature. Once cooled, break apart and store in an air-tight container.

It worked! I have always made candied cashews/almonds with white sugar and was skeptical this would set hard but it did! Not quite the same as candied nuts but very good and SUPER easy, thankyou!
Yay! So glad it worked for you and you enjoyed these!
Just made these and they are delicious. Thank you for sharing.
Yay! Thank you for sharing and so glad that you liked them!
Delicious. Making some more and they won’t last long.
So glad you liked them!
I made these for me and my grandson, and they were very good! But, Andre wanted pickle flavored almonds, we both love pickles a lot! So I took my pickle juice, made a syrup with it, and baked . They came out good, except the longer they baked, the less pickley they were. Can you think of anything that might help us make some dill pickle flavor almonds? Thank you for the inspiration!
Hi! Dill almonds – you guys are thinking outside the box! Can’t say that I’ve experimented with that one before. Maybe adding some fresh or dried dill would help? Glad you enjoyed these!
Would honey work instead of maple syrup?
I honestly haven’t tried swapping maple syrup for honey in this recipe! That being said, they do usually swap well for one another so I’d think it would work just fine! Would be curious to hear an update if you try them with honey :).
