The coconut oil is deeply cleansing to leave your dishes clean with no leftover streaks or residue. The castor oil and tallow add moisture enriching properties and create the perfect lather.

When it comes to ingredients, we hold nothing back, making them exactly like we would for our own family. Sourced with the highest quality ingredients like locally raised grassfed tallow, organic castor oil and coconut oil.

Lightly scented with lemon essential oil.

One 3 oz. dish soap bar. These beautiful, round bars are perfect for storing in a dish on your sink. The ingredients in them make them an extremely hard bar to withstand heavy washing and usage. One dish soap bar lasts us around 1 month and we have no dishwasher and wash A LOT of dishes.

All of our soaps are made in our home in small batches and are open air cured for at least 30 days. We hide nothing—you can see exactly how we make them in our DIY tutorial blog post and video. And if you like them, we would be thrilled if you opted to make them yourself in the future. Our family of 7 all get involved in the process to bring you the best soap bars on the planet!

To use a dish soap bar, run the bar directly onto a dish sponge or cloth to create a lather. Scrub the pots, pans, and plates and then rinse completely with water. Store soap bars in a well draining dish to increase its longevity.

What Goes Into Our Bars

Organic Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is the primary cleansing agent in these dish soap bars. It creates a strong, long lasting bar with intense grease-fighting power to leave dishes sparkling clean.

Grass-Fed Tallow

Organic, grass-fed tallow sourced from local Illinois farms. Tallow acts as a hardening agent in these bars, provides a rich lather, and keeps hands moisturized.

Organic Castor Oil

Castor oil creates the perfect, stable lather. It also helps increase grease cutting power, while being a humectant to prevent dry hands from the coconut oil.

Lemon

Lemon essential oil is a great natural cleaner. It effectively helps to cut grease, remove sticky residues, and disinfect because of its high levels of limonene.

Frequently Asked Questions

No! After using these for 3+ years now, we have had no issues with remaining grease, streaks, or residue.

No! The beauty of soap is that in the saponifaction process, the oils are saponified with lye so they no longer act as the oils that they were, they are now soap. We have a septic system and haven’t had any issues. These bars also have a 0% superfat meaning that all of the oils are completely saponified by the lye.

Please allow for up to 5 business days for your order to be processed. We are a small operation and will fulfill orders at least once per week. Shipping is through USPS.

We do not offer returns for our products. If it does not work for you as a shampoo bar, it can also be used as a body or hand soap. If your product arrives damaged, contact us at shop@fromscratchfarmstead.com and we will make it right.
