With a rich, moisturizing lather, they are perfect for both hair and body. It’s your one-stop shop for all your bath needs.

When it comes to ingredients, we hold nothing back, making them exactly like we would for our own family. Sourced with the highest quality ingredients like locally raised grass-fed tallow, and organic olive, coconut, and castor oil.

Lightly scented with rosemary essential oil.

*Note that all our soaps are handcrafted in small batches in our home soap studio and may vary in color and shape from what is shown in the picture.

One 6 oz. shampoo bar. These are BIG bars that will last. We find them to be perfect for both hair and body. One bar typically lasts between 1-2 months, depending on use.

All of our soaps are made in our home in small batches and are open air cured for at least 30 days. We hide nothing—you can see exactly how we make them in our DIY tutorial blog post and video. And if you like them, we would be thrilled if you opted to make them yourself in the future. Our family of 7 all get involved in the process to bring you the best soap bars on the planet!

*Note: Some bars will come with the wavy cut only on one side. In an effort to give you the best value, we opted to not cut the ends off of each soap block, resulting in less waste and bigger bars for all.

To use a shampoo bar, first make sure your hair is completely wet. Then, either rub the bar on your hands first or directly onto your scalp. Massage the sudsy soap into your hair and scalp, and then rinse thoroughly. Store the shampoo bar in a dry place to maximize its life.

What Goes Into Our Bars

Grass-Fed Tallow

Organic, grass-fed tallow from local Illinois farms. Tallow moisturizes hair and conditions the scalp. Rich in vitamins, it mimics natural oils, and promotes hair strength & growth.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil provides deep hydration, intense nourishment, and a rich lather. It’s also extremely cleansing for the hair and scalp without the use of harsh sulfates.

Olive Oil

Olive oil nourishes the scalp with vitamins and antioxidants. It penetrates the hair shaft providing deep moisturizing, conditioning, and is a gentle cleanser.

Castor Oil

The high concentration of ricinoleic acid in castor oil coats the hair shaft to seal in hydration, reduce frizz, and minimize hair breakage. It’s also key for creating the perfect lather.

Rosemary

Rosemary essential oil is known for its ability to boost hair growth, thickness, and scalp health by improving circulation and fighting inflammation.

Frequently Asked Questions

This shampoo bar is perfect for all hair types. But it may not be for everyone. We have heard from SO many, with all different hair types, that have loved this shampoo bar. And for others, it hasn’t been what they are looking for. In that case, it still makes a lovely body or hand soap. If transitioning from conventional, chemical-based shampoo products, it is recommended to do a hair detox first.

That is completely up to you. I have gone years solely using this shampoo bar without any additional conditioner. I’ve also gone through seasons of doing a diluted apple cider vinegar rinse as a conditioner after shampooing my hair. My advice would be to experiment trying both and see what you like better.

We do not offer returns for our products. If it does not work for you as a shampoo bar, it can also be used as a body or hand soap. If your product arrives damaged, contact us at shop@fromscratchfarmstead.com and we will make it right.
