EASY Chocolate Chip Blondies (5 Ingredients!)
A must make recipe when you need a dessert, fast! These chocolate chip blondies have only 5 simple ingredients, take a few minutes to whip up, and are a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

This is my go-to recipe for those countless occasions where we are headed to an event, and I realize at the last minute, I need to bring a dessert for the cookie table and I have nothing ready. It’s easy, fast, and I always have all of the ingredients on hand.
I like to think of these blondie bars as the sister recipe to our easy homemade brownies. We have one kid who isn’t a fan of chocolate, and brownies with cocoa powder and chocolate chips are a bit much for her. But these chocolate chip blondies—they are a hit every time. Both recipes have similar basic ingredients and are a more delicious and real food version compared to box mix brownies without any extra hassle.

Ingredients in Chocolate Chip Blondies & Swaps
Butter or Coconut Oil – I often use butter and coconut interchangeably, and the same is true in these blondie bars—both work perfectly.
Brown Sugar or Sucanat – Sucanat stands for sugar cane natural and is made from 100% sugar cane. It still contains all of the cane’s natural molasses, giving it a brown color as well as all the flavor and nutrients that come with it. Brown sugar can also be used in this recipe.
Egg

Flour – For fresh ground flour, I prefer to grind soft white wheat berries, and it works perfectly in these chocolate chip cookie bars. All purpose or gluten free all-purpose flour would also work well in this recipe.
Sea Salt
Chocolate Chips – Dark chocolate, semi sweet, milk chocolate—you choose what kind of chips you’d like to add in these blondies. For “the kitchen sink” blondies, get creative with mix-in’s and add pretzels, chopped up candy bars, white chocolate chips, etc.

How to Make Chocolate Chip Blondies
Gather the ingredients and begin by preheating the oven to 350°F and greasing a 9×9” baking pan.
In a mixing bowl, add butter or coconut oil and mix with sucanat or brown sugar.

Then stir in the egg.
Once the wet ingredients are mixed, add the sea salt and flour. Mix together until no flour shows.

Stir in chocolate chips, reserving a few extra for placing on top.

Spread batter evenly in pan and sprinkle remaining chocolate chips evenly over the top.

Bake for 18-22 minutes until blondies are set all the way through. If you are using an 8×8 pan instead of a 9×9 it will take a few extra minutes of cook time.
